Hey everyone, I've been dealing with severe acne for years and my dermatologist recommended Accutane. However, it's not available in our country. Is anyone here familiar with getting it from the USA? Any advice or experiences to share?

Hello SunflowerSmiles83, I can understand your situation regarding Accutane. Its important to note that while purchasing medications internationally might seem like an option, it comes with significant risks and uncertainties. Are you aware of the side effects and potential complications associated with isotretinoin (the active ingredient in Accutane)? Also, have you consulted a healthcare provider about alternative treatments?

Hi DocDerekMD, thanks for responding. Ive done some research and am aware of the possible side effects, but my acne is severe enough that Im willing to take the risk if it means getting better skin. My dermatologist did mention other options like topical creams and antibiotics, but they didnt work well for me. I really want to try Accutane.

I understand your concerns, SunflowerSmiles83, but ordering medications from another country without a prescription is highly risky and illegal in many places. There are several safer alternatives available within the USA that might be equally effective or at least worth exploring. Have you considered visiting a dermatologist here who can prescribe isotretinoin? Its crucial to ensure the medication is authentic and administered under medical supervision.

Thank you for your insights, DocDerekMD. I hadnt thought about visiting a dermatologist in the USA. Do you know if there are any specific clinics or doctors that have good reviews and experience with Accutane?

Certainly! It would be best to seek out local recommendations through trusted sources such as medical associations or online forums where patients share their experiences. Websites like Healthgrades, Yelp, and Google Reviews can provide valuable insights into dermatologists who specialize in treating severe acne with isotretinoin. Ensure you find a board-certified dermatologist for the safest treatment plan.

Thanks again, DocDerekMD! Ill start looking into local clinics and doctors who specialize in this. Its really helpful to have guidance on finding a safe way to get Accutane instead of ordering it from abroad.
